John Cubit was in the Masters and Open categories of the Mt. Rogers show in Roanoke, VA today. He looked awsome and he deserves a big congrats for getting into such tremendous contest condition.

My prediction after pre-judging is that he will win his class in the Masters and that he will either be 1st or 2nd in his class in the Open. If he gets into the overall he is going to be very competitive there also.

The man has been holding out on us by not posting much - he must really know his stuff because he was in great shape today. His quads were striated and huge and he had the best set of abs and best legs in the show plus just a great overall package. His posing was also very good.

I wish both he and his wife the best - they are both very nice people.

When they get home they will give us a link to some show pics.

VA, we just got home from trip, Thank you so much for that uplifting post. I had been down after pre judging for some unknown reason, I guess I'm my hardest critic. Anyway you were right about the placings I was awarded Masters heavyweight 1st and Masters overall, and open light-heavy 1st. Lost the overall to a very good lightweight. I'm taking your advice and only eating 3 days off diet then back on for the spring shows. My wife and I enjoyed your company after prejudging, it so nice to talk with people who have the same drive and motivation as I. Soon I will post some pics from the show they turned out great. Anyway thank you very much for your support and the many post on this board that motivate so many of us to be the best that we can be, your a c`lass act. take care john.

Outstanding John! A Double 1st place win in both of your classes, plus the overall in the Masters and it sounds like you came very close to taking the whole show! You deserved it, you looked great, your posing was solid and it was obvious that you have put what ever BI supplements you have consumed to good work.

Now I want to know what you do for legs! I always cheer a little extra when one of us "senior" competitors beats out the younger guys (or gals)

BI products + smart training + the desire and dedication to work hard = the fountain of youth and you proved it once again.

The pics I took turned out dark, so I'm glad that yours are good. I'll still send them to you - but unfortunately they are not very clear.

Aram - you better watch out for this guy - he'll make you look....well...not as big... Wink

And You're correct....VA is a class A1 dude.
Even if he really is 79 years old. Smile

For everyone who wants to know about what I do for legs, this has been asked of me at least 30 times since the Oct 23rd show and last sat show by numerous competitors. First let me tell everyone that your legs are constantly being worked just by daily activities alone. My philosophy is that there is no such thing as overtraining your legs. I work my entire legs that is Quads, hams, and, calves once a week for 4.5 to 5 hrs with minimal rest between sets. I perform many box squats for reps as high as 40 with 225, there have been many times I've almost passed out while doing this but the results are rewarding. I'd suggest a training partner for anyone attempting to try this. As a matter of fact all my leg work consist of high reps, drop sets, and pyramids. I'm after that deep muscle burn, here is another great quad exercise. Grab your training partner and go to a sled, load 4 plates on each side and perform 20 reps have your partner take a plate off each side and do 30 more, again take off a plate from each side and do 50 more reps, finally take a plate off each side and do 100 more. This kind of insane workout equals striated deeply cut quads. The only problem with this workout, is keeping a training partner. lol john
