Gosh, having a hard time figuring out this photo thing, so I uploaded a few onto Snapfish...hope this works. http://www.snapfish.com/home/t_=4373207

I woke up hard and dry, but after the AM meal, I "filled out" and was holding a lot of H20. I did not come in as hard and dry as I wanted...live and learn. (one of the things I have learned is that the carb-up meal just was not working for me...I need to get some help with this!)

As I mentioned in other posts, I did have a great time and it was lots of fun. I learned quite a bit along the way! I am really looking forward to my next competition Smile

I have also learned to take a different approach from the typical last day carb up scheme. A big carb up does not work well for me either.

You look great in your pics - and I love the pics of your boys! You should be a very proud Mom on top of taking pride in your recent showing.

Too bad that the show pics are kind of dark, I don't think that they did you justice.

Let us see what you ate from Friday on. We might be able to make a few suggestions. Both carbs and sodium intake can make a big difference, and there are a lot of misconceptions out there regarding what the best strategy is.

I really think if your carb up meals are too big then they should just be lowered in terms of size, carbs are the way to go, but in terms of seeing where your body can go to is the question! small meals throughout the day going on to the stage will work now it just depends upon how you need to size them! There are very few peaople who really need to carb up anywhere except for the day of the show, going any earlier unless you are so tight and about 3% or the most severe ecto you will eat a your last couple meal on fri with carbs otherwise you should not need to do anything on fri except go very low! Carbs work too fast for most, so fri should be out!

I am carb senstive as well and look at what i ate and came in at my best all time condition!

Thanks for the input and feedback. The lighting in all the photos is not great, but hopefully the prof. ones will come out better. As always it is appreciated.

(thanks too for the compliments on my boys...they are so much fun. My little one is 5 and is an aspiring BBer. He already knows my routine and some posing, and practices right along with me. It is great!)

(Craig-Wow! Thanks for all the detailed info!!!)

I did wake up dry and hard Sat AM. I then ate the meal prescribed for me by Rachel: 4 oz steak, 1/2 grapefruit, 2eggs, 1/2 c (before cooking) oats. I then had my Snickers before going onstage.

Friday I ate beef and grapefruit all day with almost a gal. of H2O (which I think was too much)

Thursday was beef and GF with the exception of the last meal being the carb up.

It seemed that right after I ate that AM meal, I blew up.

VAMadDog-What do you do for your carb meal?

I have been really happy with the results I have gotten on the plan, but am now worried about the carb up thing. I did contact Rachel about getting back on the plan for my next show. Just waiting for a response.

thanks for looking at my diet!

I don't really feel that the thurs carb up was necessary as I really think the meal on thurs could have done that to you! carbs need to be taken for the most part on sat and thats in very small amounts if you are carb sensitive carbs really are the way to go! Maybe your 1st meal the day of the show could be 3-4 oz steak and maybe a 1/4 c of sweet pot, then 2 hours later 1/2 protein bar, then 2 hours later 3 oz steak and another 1/4 c of sweet pot, then 30 min before stage 1 rice cake with 1/2 tbl of PB and 1/2 tbl of real jelly! then repeat after prejudging and replace the steak with chicken! drinking about 4-6 oz of spring water with each meal! the water is something you shoud really have to drop at all as this is NOT the thing to drop as this will flatten out the muscles and cause more water retention when getting dehydrated as the body will release aldosterone and will hold onto water in the skin instead of in the muscles, flat and squishy, not good! a gallon-gallon and 1/4 is good, this is what makes muscles full, WATER, while keeping your sodium levels at about 2500 mg through the week and then dropping to about 2000 on thurs and maybe 1500 mg on fri! Now thats the ticket! Carbs work so fast and wed, thurs, fri should be restricted days!
This is a guess, because i do not know what you did, but sat and sun are probably drop down low low days about 75 g's, and then Mon would be your highest, about 150 g, tues will be 125 g, wed will be 100 g, thurs will be 75 g and so will fri! Protein and fats can be steady throughout the week, say your protein is 150 g, keep it there for the week and then for your fats say they are at 25-30 g's keep it there as well as the key areas of manipulation and the easiest way to make this peak week work is to manipulate the carbs, and sodium just barely at the end and then water just barely at the end! There is no need for using the extra potassium or any diuretics an this can really play games with your body and the way it holds water sometimes good, but more often than not usually bad! No need to add it the variables list!

Thanks again Craig. If you don't mind, could I e-mail you my final week prep so you could look at it?
