Whey Protein is a great protein powder to offer your clients. Very Good in my book. Ultra Size and Muscle Provider protein shakes are awesome From Beverly. Tri it.

Weight loss is dependant on how many calories you are taking in, and how many calories you are burning off.

Figure out his Basal Metabolic Rate (I like using the Harris-Benedict equation) and you'll come up with an approximate number as to total calories he should be eating. You also should factor in his energy expenditure and Body Composition (bodyfat) and you will come up with an approximate amount as to the calories he should be consuming. Additionally, determining what bodytype he is will also be helpful when it comes to macronutrient partitioning. I.E. endomorph, mesomorph, ectomorph.

Whey protein, therefore, can be used in a gaining phase(caloric surplus) or a cutting, hardening phase. (caloric deficit)

I have used, and recommended Muscle Provider for both fat reduction with retention in muscle mass, as well as muscular weight gain.

Once the protein requirements have been deduced, whey protein can be used as an adjunct to meet those protein numbers in addition to lean meats, eggs, and dairy.

Good luck with your client, as well as your new foray into the world of fitness! Smile
