3 whites
1/2 cup oat meal

1 scoop mp

5ozlean meat
5oz carb(sweat potatoe)
2 cups green vegetables

1 scoop mp

5oz chicken
2 cups vegetables

she has been on this for 4 weeks, she has lost 8 pounds,4 inches off her waist and 5 off her hips....This past week she seems to have gained a pound but still lost 1 1/2 off the hips....is it time to adjust the diet or give it time...Also she does long distance cardio 3 times a week and weight train's with circuits 3 days a week-jack

My problem with this diet is that there are NO fats?!! Where are the fats? Without fats or essential fatty acids, you can kiss fat loss and your metabolism goodbye.

I would say that if you want to change the diet at this point (4 weeks). Now would be a good time to increase the calories via fats. Try this:

1 whole egg, 2 whites
1/2 cup oat meal

1 scoop mp, 1 tbsp Heavy Whipping Cream

5oz lean Ground Beef, or Lean Steak
5oz carb(sweat potatoe)
2 cups green vegetables w/ 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp Vinegar

1 scoop mp, 1 tbsp Heavy Whipping Cream

5oz chicken
2 cups vegetables w/ 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp Vinegar

This addition of fats will increase her, at this point, Waining metabolism. She is a runner also which will require a little more calories later, but try this first. Stick with it for another 4 weeks before changing anything.

This diet is still WAY lower calorie than I would prefer, but it is working thus far. Watch her strength and body fat levels.

Keep us posted!

I would still increase those fats as mentioned. Something else is maybe through in 2-3 strawberries into the MP shakes for extra fibers.

What is she doing for weights exactly?? Circuit training? Have her focus on free weights with heavier poundage. Enough to only be able to get 6-8 reps. None of this high rep stuff.

She may be burning through all those calories with the long distance running... 3 days a week you said? How many miles? The only other change to her diet is to throw in a High Carb meal every 3rd and 4th day consisting of 1 cup Cooked Brown Rice, 6 oz Red potato, 1 banana in place of her final meal on those days.

Other changes have to be made in her training at this point. Like I said, heavier weights (dumbells and barbells) for lower reps. This alone will increase that metabolism. Stick to the basics: Squats, Front Squats, Incline Dumbell, Deadlifts... COMPOUND LIFTS ARE KEY! Try it out for 2 weeks befor making any further changes.... she isn't competing or anything is she?? because if she is, this isn't a time to experiment...

Don't worry. Everyone does that. When you first start, changes happen quickly. Combining the two, exercise and diet, changes are quicker. Sometimes when changes in diet are done, the body SEEMS like it is not responding because there's no loss or gain. It may be a training issue.

Now her cardio is long distance? Can you specify?

Up the lifts, too. The weights may be getting easy, so push/pull harder. Strength conditioning is going to be the main goal.

Also, what part of the day does she train? At 55, did she just start or has she always trained?

i add flax seed oil to my UMP shakes...
My breakfast 2 lean outs, 1 energy reserve, and 1 -7 keo and then eat: either oatmeal with Ump or Ultra Size blended into oatmeal and 5-6 egg whites...then 3 hours later an UMP shake, then 3-hours later lunch tuna or chicken with lettuce, celery and I use omega 3-6-9 oil with apple cidar vinegar...then 2nd shake with flax seed oil 2 hours later. then i take 8 muscle synergy and do circuit training....but I think the flax oil is a big plus along with other supplements, 2 leans out 1 energy reserve, 1 7-keto prior to breakfast, lunch and dinner, then prior to workouts 8 muscle synergy...and don't forget those shakes....I lost 80lbs and I have continued to keep it off for 5 yrs...would never go back...you will have plateaus, age and metabolism are against us, and she is in menopause...I am not sure if she is on HRT but estrogen does hold weight..but it sounds like she is on the right track with great success already...keep it going...
