Wow, it is crazy how a small change in diet really makes you feel. My diet went from
1)3 eggwhite 1 egg 3oz lean meat
2)2 scoops ultra size w/ h2o
3)6oz lean meat, 1/2 c.brown rice, 1/2c. veg. w/ lc dressing
4) same as #2
5)6oz lean meat, tbsp flax
to
1)4 e.whites, 3 oz turkey, 1/2 grapefruit
2)1 scoop ultra size, 1 scoop muscle pro., 3 strwbrrys, 2 tsp flax
3)6oz chic, 2 cup salad (I am not sure if I am allowed dressing, so I don't use anything)
4)same as #2
5)6 oz lean meat, 1.veg, 2 tsp flax
on Wed/Sat. meal #5 is 1C.oatmeal, 6oz swt pot, 4oz banana,1c veg. (I love these days!)No supps this meal
*all other meals include supps.

So my body is not responding like I thought it would, I feel like my abs are holding on to too much bf. Of course it could just be me? Hormones are a strange thing for us women to deal with!
I want the bf gone! Contest is in 6weeks!My 1st. Eek

Have you had your bodyfat tested? If so what is the measurement of the skinfold on the abs? Id say if you are happy with your legs, you are ahead of the game. Most females seem to be the other way around, six weeks is a lot of time to lose fat off the abs. But, without knowing stats and bodyfat measurements its really hard to say.

What is your training split and cardio looking like?

All you can do is stay the course, its probably, just your nerves, I was the same way before my first bodybuilding show. I know its not fun, but its part of getting up on stage. The nerves and self doubt are why many cant hack it. Good luck,

Jason--

Where you not doing oatmeal at meal #1, I dont see it listed. If you were not then the second diet really is not all that lower in calories than the first with the exception of the carbs being taken out at the 3rd meal.

If this is not a typo you may want to consider going down to 4 meals and have that carb meal as a 5th meal on those days. This will be a reduction in calories and will drop your bodyfat. The other thing would be to increase your cardio, either way it seems like you need to get rid of calories.

No, no typo, I was doing exactly as Rachel said and this was the diet change.
I am lifting 4-5 days per week and cardio is 5-6 doing steady state for 30-45 min some days and intervals on others. It is never the same.Jeremiah could you explain your diet strategy a bit better, I didn't quite get what you meant.
My bodyfat is around 14% right now. I think. Our skindex calipers a little off b/c it read 13.5% and that is hard to believe. Well, If you all have any more suggestions that would be great. Thanks Jen

Hey Jen. I'm sure Jeremiah or the other qualified Bev consultants will help you out! I am also on fat-burn diet as you stated..and I was put on that about 5-6 weeks ago by Jeremiah. I found it to work exceptionally well for me - I'm down 9 lbs. in 6 weeks.. You state you are doing cardio and some days steady state or intervals. Only my personal experience.. but I do 16-20 mins. HIIT all out sprints for timed sequences for every cardio session. Also, about 3 weeks ago I started to add 2nd HIIT session after posing practice in evening. That has helped to harden me up and push me along with (so far..) no plateau. You have 6 weeks to go.. I think you'll be fine. As I have just really seen a big change in my physique or look within the last 2 weeks. It has been my experience that this diet w/the carb up meal needs to settle in and have time to work. Give it time! Your supps are also very similar, nearly identical to mine. Hang in there and don't get discouraged. Wink

Thanks! Smile I agree. Funny that you mention the HIT method b/c that is exactly how I train witht the exception of the steady state days. I will def. give it a shot.
My trainer has me lift using the HIT method, and WOW it is killer. I have changed sooo much in the last 2 mths that I can hardly beleive it is me.
I think the diet is settling too because I am feeling better, and looking leaner today. Kindof strange how it all comes into play! Thanks for the reply. Jen

I think what Jeremiah is saying, is that it doesn't look like you dropped that many calories, so that's why you might not have noticed a big change. Getting the right amount of calories is like walking a fine line. I would loop back in with Rachel and let her know that you aren't seeing much of a change. You may have to drop the portion sizes a little bit, that's my guess. But Rachel and the BEv stagg would know best.

Good Luck!!

Dwayne
