Can canned grapfruit juice be substituted for 1/2 grapefruit in the fat loss diet?

I would not recommend using juice due to the high fructose content and simple sugars.
Try using another fruit or for emergency use canned fruit and leave out the juice. Steve |

I'd say yes to canned grapefriut, not so sure about canned grapefruit juice. Some of the nutritional value strategy in real grapefruit (whole pieces) is in how the body processes the food. For example, drinking apple juice is not the same as eating an apple. The juice almost always has added sugar plus it will spike your insulin faster because of the amount of sugar and the level of processing make it easier for your body to absorb the food more quickily.
Look carefully at the lable. If it is grapefruit pieces in natural juice with no sugar, etc added it should be very similar to a real grapefruit but without the hassles of pealing, etc. VA MadDog |

You can buy grapefruit pieces in a jar..natural, no sugar added. It is a little more expensive than the whole fruit but way more convenient for us on the go types.
