Best Pre & Post Workout Carbs

Just curious for some ideas and tips on the best pre and post workout carbs for losing fat and gaining muscle. I currently use MP and UMP (with other Beverly supps). Complex vs simple carbs. I know a lot of this is trial and error but some input from everyone would be appreciated.

Pre workout (about 1.5 hours before) I have my normal meal as far as protein goes and cut 220 grams of raw yam into sticks (they look like carrot sticks). For flavor I may dip them in a calorie free dressing. This give me 55 grams of carbohydrates which is more than enough to fuel a tough workout. Prior to doing this my pre workout energy was less than stellar. As far as post workout goes simply eat your next normally scheduled meal or go with Muscle Provider.
