Fitdoc,
Just wanted to say thanks on the info. on ostrich. We tried some this weekend, and were very pleased. I was surprised that the meat didn't taste "gamey" like some venison, and I found the 6oz portion to be plenty. It's extremely lean. It's always nice to have another option when getting tired of the same old stuff. Do you use ostrich primarily on a pre-contest diet, or do you use it any time? Tom |

Hey Tom, i'm glad you liked the ostrich. I use ostrich all year round. In fact, it's one of my primary protein sources!

The feathers keep getting stuck between my teeth
Plus there is just no meat on those long boney legs. But those huge fresh eggs from the ostrich coop every morning are a delight! VA MadDog |

Mad Dog....You're killin' me !! I had this vision of the 3 Stooges - after Curly ate some pillow stuffing, every time he coughed feathers came out of his mouth!!
Thanks for the laugh.... |

Hey fitdoc. Thanks for the link to the Ostrich, posted at the perfect time. In the past year I developed an allergy to all fish and seafood and I am SO tired of chicken, turkey, and I do not care for ground beef. I ordered the sample packet of Ostrich, and some Venison too. I had the ostrich strips on a salad tonight. Really good. !!! Thanks. Next I try the Buffalo. Does anyone know if it is "gamey" tasting/smell?

Nope, the bison (buffalo) is not gamey tasting or smelling.
