Training for figure comp. in April and need some help with diet. I am 5'5 and started dieting Jan 2nd at 128 lbs, 22% body fat. I have stuck by same diet of the following:

Meal 1: 1/2 cup oats, 1 scoop protein, 1/4 cup blueberries
Meal 2: 1 scoop protein 1/2 tsp natural pb
Meal 3: 5 oz chicken, 2 tbsp black bean and corn salsa, 1/2 cup brown rice, 1 cup green beans
Meal 4: 1 scoop protein, 1/2 tsp natural pb
Meal 5: 5 oz chicken, 2 tbsp black bean corn salsa, 4 oz sweet potato (sometimes), 1 cup green beans

I know it has only been 2 weeks but I have not lost a single pound. Should I start doing the figure pre comp diet that is low carb and carb up on mon and thurs nights? I did this same diet above last year pre comp for a while and dropped weight quick.

I am only doing 30 min cardio a day, so does anyone think I should go at diet differently and do more cardio???

rsmith, I would eliminate the carb source ( sweet Pot. ) the last meal. And the big thing is supplements. What are your supps. like, and when?

I take 2 lean out, 2 density, and 2 muscularity with each meal.
3 7-keto in am and 2 in afternoon
3 scoops UMP total throughout day in shakes
2 Bev ZMA and multi vit. before bed.

Krsmith,

You possibly could think about maybe Energy Reserve, and GH Factor to increase the fat burning effects, or try a Low Carb diet with a Mon., and Thurs. Carb up meal. That is what alot of Beverly followers do, including myself. The last month depending where I'm at I will normally follow that type diet, and take the Lean Out-Energy Reserve-GH Factor stack, and maybe increase my cardio a bit. But also a general rule of thumb is to decrease your daily caloric intake, or increase cardio.

Thank you for the advice. Did low carb diet all week and still no luck. I will try adding in the carb up meal Mon and Thurs this week. Very frustrating. I have not been doing a.m cardio on empty stomach either so maybe I will give that a whirl. I really dont think I can decrease my caloric intake anymore as it is already around 1200-1300 and im starving...

Just throwing this out there, too. You don't really have any fat in your diet, which isn't a good thing. Your body needs good dietary fat to lose fat and to function properly.

Actually it looks like twice a day your using Natural P- Nut Butter, which is OK,but maybe you could try some Flax, or EFA, or Fish oil would probably help. The Natural P-Nut Butter, might not be quite enough. You cant be afraid of fat. Good point cat70.
