Hello,
I am just starting my beverly diet today and I was wondering where I can find the master food list options. Also, does anyone know the macro breakdowns? I know one serving of protein is equivalent to 7g, but how about 1/2 cup of oats and such? What about fats (1/2 Tbsp)? I only ask this because i am very obsessive about this stuff and I weight everything on a scale (difficult to break this habbit). Thanks! |

I wiegh my foods in grams via an excel spreadsheet. 1/2 cup oats is about 27 grams of oats, "about" is the operative word. If you go to the trouble to get the measuring cups out, its just as easy to throw a bowl on a scale, zero it out, and pour in the amount of oats you need to the gram....
a bev in season diet is probably going to be pretty close to 50/20/30. |

I'm the same way. I usually go by what the box states. Quaker oats states 1/2 cup = 40g, so that is what i have always used. I wish the diets had the calorie breakdown on them so it would make it easier to decipher the correct amounts.

so if the plan calls for 1/2 cup fruit (strawberries, blueberries, etc.), how many carbs do you think this is targeting?
I have a nutrition sheet with the following breakdown and it helps me out tremedously. everything is in ounces and grams: 1 Serving Protein = 7g 1 Serving Carbs (Complex) = 12-15g 1 Serving Veggies = 4-6g 1 Serving Fat = 5g |

I think you missed my point. the label on the box will say 1/2 cup is about 27 grams of carbs. I weigh my food in grams as in weight. Thats exact, ounces and cups are not....does it matter, many can argue it doesnt, but it does to me. As for your fruit question, that is my point, who knows???? thats why Id look at the blueberry bag and if it says a 20 gram (in weight serving) has 12 carbs I know that for every 1 gram of weight of blueberries Im getting .6 grams of carbohydrates, I then set my diet up accordingly. Get me now???? |

yeah, i gotcha now. I thought you were referring to '27' as the actual weight, not the macronutrient value. My diet has already been setup by someone else, so I was trying to figure out on my own since all the beverly diets seem to work this way.
thanks jason |

so your advisor doesnt know the macro breakdown? Hmmm...interesting, sort of an off the cuff diet plan. Yeah, I like to know so all the diets I ever do contain the calories ingested along with the exact macro breakdowns...good luck figure it out.
