I just started my diet this week for my first show and I was wondering what type of condiments are good to use. I was wondering if I could use a little bit of ketchup sometimes cuz its only 25 calories and 4 carbs. I know hot sauce, salsa and mustard are ok. Also I started a little farther out than 16 wks out so I could play around with the diet so I get it right. One last thing, how is fat free cheese. Its only 30 calories and 2 carbs.

Ketchup... Not a good option. At 16 weeks out, its not going to hurt that badly, but i'd definitely cut it out for good at 8 weeks. Here's my thought on Ketchup: Yes 4g of carbs, but you also have 4g of sugar, and this is for a Tablespoon serving... So long story short, yes you're only getting 15 calories added, but your basically adding 8 grams of carbs for no reason. I'd bet most of us eat about 2-3 TBS when adding it to a meal anyhow....then we're looking at 16-24grams that aren't needed.

On a precontest diet stick to Hot Sauce (the buffalo style from Mike's is good), Salsa, Mustard, salt (salt the everything right now), pepper, chili powder.... among other spices.

I ate fat free cottage cheese (washed) w/ 6 egg whites from 12 weeks out to 4 weeks out in my precontest prep. It worked well for me.

no ketchup, kevin is right. Drop all condiments that add calories, why risk it when you are trying to get as ripped as possible?

I figured no condiments with calories, but was just checking. Hot sauce is my favorite anyways. What about banana peppers in my tuna?

I don't think they will be a problem. Some added sodium, but right now you should be adding some extra salt anyhow. As long as it isn't to extreme, you're fine.
