Do you think their is anything wrong with using oatmeal for your carb source later in the day, according to a Bev diet? Is their any reason why they pick this for the morning meal and nothing else? What other carb sources do you use and why?

Thanks

I think the main reason is because the average joe thinks of breakfast food as oatmeal, and that is the most logical thing to eat for meal number 1. I use all kinds of different carb sources throughout the day. The order of meals does not matter as much as making sure you eat all of your meals on your diet. As long as you are eating the given calories and meals assigned to you for the day, you can arrange them in any order you like. My favorite carb sources are oatmeal, sweet potatoes, red potatoes, and grits. Thats just about my only sources of starchy carbs. As for fibrous carbs, I like green beans and celery.
Hope this helps,

SEAN

I was always under the impression that the order of the meals does not matter. As long as you get them all in spaced out through out the day. I think they just put meal 1 with eggs and oatmeal cause most people would start with one, eat in the morning....

We put the carbohydrates at meals 1 and 3 so we can supply the body with enough glycogen. Be eating the carbs later in the day there is a better chance that they will be stored as fat. The only time it is ok to eat carbs at night is when you are carb deprived. An example of this would be on our precontest diet with the carb load meal.

You can swtich the order of meals 1-3 or 4 - 6.

Thanks Mark for your input. I am following one of your diets that you put together for me. I figured that was the case, but I like to switch things up sometimes. How much change can you get away with on a Bev Diet?
