Hi everyone! My name is Steve and I use to post on this board quite frequently. Well, things are starting to slow down just a tad and I want to get back into losing more bodyfat. Nice to be back! For the newbies, Beverly Rocks!

I am at a point right now that I am just maintaining. Meaning, intense weights and some cardio. I am not prepping for a show. Basically, I am nervous about putting on BF. I know, it's psychological. Anyways, my weight is 195 and I do not know my bodyfat. I am assuming its around 11 or 12%. Can you give me an estimate on how many cals I need to consume to maintain?

If you need more info, please let me know.

Steve

To properly do a BMR, one needs your age, sex, height, weight and activity level (low, moderate, high).

Steve

Check your box.

Multiply your weight by 12-15. Try that for calories. Experiment at 12X and 15X and see how the body responds.

The higher the percentage of protein in the diet the higher the calories you can eat for maintenance.

To more accurately estimate your daily caloric needs for maintanence, you should use the Harris-Benedict equation which you may remember from school. I would suggest doing the math by hand rather than using one of the many calculators available on the web.

Here's a link to a site that takes you step by step through the HB equation so you can estimate your daily caloric needs:

Hi Jason!

Yes, I was. ETX (Ray) and Roger R. were my trainers. To make a long story.....I was 3.5 weeks into training and progressing nicely. I was loving it! Then, I was promoted at work, which required alot of traveling. I am in grad school, which also keeps me busy, and I am working on my townhouse. School and the house were not a problem but the traveling was. So, in order to do great in competition I knew that I could not take chances so I decided to not do it. The stage will always be there ;-)

Thank you for asking!

Lets chat offline. Send me an email ssamaan@parker.com or I can mail you.

Looking forward to chatting.
