In a quest for convenient protein, I sometimes take about 5 ounces of either Boarshead Ovengold Turkey breast, or their Chicken Breast to work with me for lunch (in addition to almonds, Ultra40 and Mass Aminos for a "low carb" meal). I know, in general "deli meats" are considered a no-no, but those Boarshead commercials practically make this stuff sound like healthfood(no added preservatives, yada yada yada) Wink
Whats your general ideas about this ?

I buy lunchmeat from the deli counter all the time. I stay away from prepackaged deli meats. In fact, I probably go through at least a pound of Sara Lee Honey Turkey every week. The taste of it gives the salad that extra little "kick," just as Honey Dijon would give to a sandwich Smile

There is a lot of salt in deli meats, (moreso in prepackaged) but some manufacturers offer low-sodium deli meats. For example, Butterball low sodium oven roasted turkey is available.

Where is our nutrition expert Lara?? I came across a posting stating she earned her SPN from ISSA !!
