Sure thing! I've yet to find any food that can't be cooked or at least heated up in the microwave. What would we do without them?

Rach... no fear over radiating? I know this may sound ridiculous. I'am very old school and basically cook all my meals over a stove or an oven.

I think you should do what you personally feel comfortable with, but we've never heard of an issue with food being over radiated.
I think that every bodybuilder/fitness enthusiast that I've known over the last 10 years has used a microwave. I know I'd be lost without one. Rachel Wade Beverly International |

Wow, I must REALLY be in the wrong hobby. I don't even have a TV, much less own a microwave. I have tasted, however, an Ultra Size brownie from the microwave, and it did not compare to the way I make them in an old fashioned oven. Hmmm.... I think I'll go make one now! Aram N. Hey Aram...
While you may be the first I know without a microwave or tv - especially both, there's sure nothing wrong with that. Most food does taste better cooked fresh the old fashioned way. Some of us are bound to our technology (guilty). If you don't mind, post your brownie recipe. Rachel Wade Beverly International |

Ha, yes you are absolutely right (as always) Rachel. I still seem to be living in the '70's and actually prefer the sound of turntables and LP's as opposed to CD's and MP3's. LOL. Well, you might be disappointed in my brownie recipe due to its simplicity. Now, as a general rule, I enjoy large portions of food, so these brownies are rather large, but I usually consume the entire thing by myself in one sitting. 2 1/2 scoops chocolate Ultra Size 1 scoop C+C UMP or vanilla UMP 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 tsp cinnamon enough water to mix into a pudding (if using C+C use a little more water) I put the entire concoction in one of those small tin foil bread loaf pans, then stick it in the pre heated oven at 350 degrees. Ovens are different, so keep an eye on it every few minutes, and what I like to do is stick a toothpick in it. When it pulls out clean, the brownie is done! For garnish I sprinkle 6-8 Mass Amino's along with 6-8 Ultra 40 on top and eat! And...YES, I actually chew my Mass Amino's. Always have. Talk about a taste treat! YUMMM! Aram N. After reading this thread, knowing the large quantities of food you eat and stay a walking anatomy chart, no tv, no microwave, you my friend are TRULY one of a kind. Thanks for the recipe. I wonder if I could add some oatmeal or something to make it a little more balanced, you probably figured Id ask something like that:-) |

i do use the microwave for eggs and oatmeal at breakfast but that is pretty much it. i usually eat my pre-cooked meals cold out of my cooler at work.i'm with you on the no TV thing though. had mine turned off about 8 years ago. amazing how much more time there seems to be in a day! try throwing a 1/4 cup of chopped almonds in the brownie, and how do you chew a mass amino tablet?. did it by accident once thinking i had my ultra 40 . yuck!
have faith....dig deeper....it's supposed to hurt |

The biggest concern that most have is whether or not microwaving food causes food to lose nutrients. Well, there are always to sides to every argument but I have read that microwarved food may retain vitamins BETTER than stovetop-cooked food. That's because the microwave zaps it quickly and without much water. One study found that spinach retained only 77 percent of its folate when cooked on the stove- but retained ALL of its folate when cooked in a microwave.
Here's another thing that I have read. Don't microwave in plastic because of the small amount of toxins that are leaked into the food. Microwave in glass containers is what is recommended. |

af please do more research on this issue I thought all were aware of the dangers. Since most here use them I will say no more for fear that I will be chastised for my antiquated way of thinking.
