Hi

anyone tried any of the beverly diets? They seem to be low carbs. If so what kind of experience have you had? I would like to try there diets but it seems that low carbs diets will make you lose strength and muscle fullness. Anyone can recommend a diet that will make me gain muscle while losing fat. I want to get more defined and put on muscle. Right now the supplements Iam using are
Ultra size
muscle provider
Mass aminos
ultra 40

Looking to get some muscle mass if need.

Jay,

I have only been doing the Beverly diet for 7 days now. I am a certified specialist in performance nutrition and have tried various nutrition approaches ranging from Body-for-LIFE to vegan, vegetarian, raw, low carb, low fat, you name it. I have always kept detailed journals and monitored my progress closely, so I have a good idea of what works for my own body.

At any rate, this is the first time following a diet like Beverly recommends. I am only 7 days into this, so it is hardly a basis for knowing what the long term results will be. I am much lower carb than I am used to, so I expected to be fairly week and light headed, etc.

Well, let me share my first 7 days.

THEY ABSOLUTELY ROCKED!

I am eating 3500 calories per day and actually maintaining if not dropping weight slightly. My energy levels have been through the roof. I mean, I have more energy than I did on a higher carb diet ... it is insane. My training has been 110%. Of course, I cannot tell you what recovery is like because it was my first week so I feel like I was dropped from the 10th story floor of a building and hit every terrace on the way down and landed on a pile of bricks, but for being so sore it is amazing the workouts I pounded out.

What's more, I have definitely, absolutely, without a doubt leaned down in just these 7 days, and my wife and I both noticed some amazing cuts developing on my quadriceps that I HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE.

Okay, okay, so I am a big fan ... here is my advice. I always say, try everything once. What have you got to lose? For me, as much as I have studied and know, let's face it - I have never stepped on stage before so I'm willing to become a student and let someone with more experience guide me. If I found my body was responding negatively, I'd reconsider. But I wanted to give it a chance to see ... and already I am LIKING IT!

Depending on your goals the beverly diets change and are customized for you. I am currently on a moderate carb diet to gain muscle and lose fat. Some people are on Extreme low carb diets to get cut up. Some are also on higher carb diets for power lifting and adding bulk for sports...... My point is that they all change. But speaking for myself, i am seeing great results.

Jay ... I am following a program put together by Jeremiah Forster from Beverly.

Right now, it is something like this:

5 oz beef + 1 whole egg + 4 egg whites
1/2 cup oatmeal
1 tbsp flax

3 scoops Ultra Size
2 tbsp heavy whipping cream

8 oz chicken breast
1 1/2 cups green beans
2/3 cup wild rice

3 scoops Ultra Size
2 tbsp heavy whipping cream

9 oz lean beef
2 cups broccoli
1 tbsp flaxseed oil

My supplements are 4 Ultra 40 and 4 Mass Aminos at every meal, Super Pak with the first meal, creatine first thing in the morning and after training, 2 antioxidant post-training along with 1 tsp glutamine, and 16 muscle synergy (I take 8 between meal 1 and meal 2 on an empty stomach, and then 8 before training on an empty stomach, and I train right before my last meal).

At any rate ... if you do the break down, it is pretty much like the Ultra Size .. about 50% protein, 40% fat, 20% carbohydrate or therabouts. You would think I would be crashing on 100 - 150 grams of carbs per day, but I have more energy than you can imagine. I also maintained my weight while dropping a full bodyfat percentage.

Jay, I couldn't tell you what part the whipping cream plays. It sure makes the shakes good. Is it healthy? I cannot see where it would be unhealthy. Saturated fats aren't the demon people make them out to be, excess saturated fats are. I can only say that whatever plan Jeremiah gave me, I am following 100% and I am getting more results in 10 days than I have in any 4 weeks in my past - and I have come a long ways with my wife by my side! (http://coolkidscorner.com/images/couple.jpg). I cannot WAIT to see what a few more weeks will bring (and she says she can't, either!)!

Very impressive Jeremy, you and your wife. Congratulations on your progress and good luck with your future goals. With out a doubt you are an inspiration to those of us who have also been "a mess" in the past and are working hard to become an elite Beverly client

Hi, this is my 2nd week into my diet which I really feel it now, I feel very flat, tired as if Iam dragging throughout the whole day and I feel like Iam getting smaller. My wieght now is around 199 to 198lbs at 5'7. I started at 202lbs. I think its just a mind thing about getting smaller since this is my first time on a diet like this. I have been taking beverly products for some time now but decide to go full bore 100% beverly from what I have heard and seen on beverly products and diets. Here is my diet, I train 5:00am in the morining

This is the Hardening phase
20 muscle mass during training
cardio 3 times a week for 20mins

Postworkout is 3scoops muscle provider and 1/2 cup oatmeal

meal 1
3 scoop ultra size with 4tbs whipping cream

Meal 2
7 or 8oz chicken breast
6oz sweet potato, or 1 cup rice
2 cups veggies

Meal 3
3 scoops ultra size with 4tbs whipping cream

meal 4
8-12 oz lean meats, ground turkey
2cups veggies

meal 5
Ultra size crepes

6 ultra 40 per meal
4 mass aminos per meal

If anyone has any advice about this diet or if I should add anything please let me know. I want to know if Iam on the right track. Any help is appreicated to reach my goal

thanks
