If I want to have sushi/sashimi for dinner tonight without counting it as a "cheat" what would you recommend? I have had 2 low carb days and this morning I had 1/2 cup oats with breakfat. My plan is to keep my carb intake low until I have the sushi at 4pm. I was thinking I would go with a sashimi appetizer, get one roll with brown rice and a green salad. Any thoughts or recommendations?

If you are competing, I would advise against it all and to stick with your normal food breakdown. If you are not competing, then who cares right? Anyways, there are a LOT of worse things you can be eating than sushi and sashimi! Those options are relatively healthy, just don't go overboard on the rolls with the rice in them.
...as long as you don't eat to much rice, you should be just fine along the lines of a lower carb diet. Enjoy! Vijay Rock Puri, D.C. |

Thanks for the response Vijay! I am not competing right now, just trying to maintain while in the off season. With SuperBowl Sunday right around the corner, I am trying to stay as strict as possible to compensate for the cheat I will have. I didn't think the one sushi roll with brown rice would be too bad because I have kept my starches very low and exercise quite a bit but wanted other opinions.
