Deborah, ground beef and tuna are steller! Salmon is great too especially if you are doing a 50/30/20 type meal plan. Try your best to use WHOLE FOODS. UMP is great, but use as a meal replacement in between your whole food meals. Don't replace a protein source in your whole foods with 1 scoop of UMP for convenience sake...

Are you having a hard time eating meat because it is tough and fiberous or stringy? Or is it because of taste? The reason I ask is because you say you can eat ground beef.

Try grinding your own. I did it until a a person that I allowed to stay there decided he should take custody and sold it.

Fish is great and so is UMP or MP.

Hi - It's Beth again - I am following the diet you gave me yesterday today - is it OK if I eat the same thing every day?? Or do I have to change it up at all?

I had the UMP vanilla plus I put the 1/2 T. of peanut butter in the blender rather than on my two rice cakes - and it was one tasty shake!! Very filling too - it's time for lunch and I'm not even hungry!

Also, should I take the Glutamine select - 2 scoops with 16 oz. of water - and sip it while I do my training later on?

Thanks again!
Beth

LOL! YOU CRAM THAT FOOD DOWN BETH!

Big Grin

Beth, consistancy is the key. Don't get to much of a variety and stick to what was written for you. This way we can make changes necessary if progress fails and we will already know what we need to cut out or add. IF there are too many bells and whistles, you won't know where to start to fix the machine when it breaks! YOu see the logic there?

2 scoops Glutamine Select mixed in water and sip it throughout your workout, or drink the whole thing before your workout if you wish! Either way is great, but there seems to be more benefit by smaller infusions throughout your workout.

Yes, I see the logic, and to me, it's easier all the way around to eat the same food every day - easier to shop for, easier to prepare the foods, etc.!

OK - I've got a workout scheduled this evening - I'll sip on the Glutamine then - hope it tastes good!

How long will it take for me to notice the benefits of taking the Lean Out? Boy, those pills sure smell nasty! But I am taking one right after each meal - and I'll take 2 right before my workout with the glutamine, right?

Thanks again!

Hey there Deborah. I would do UMP as a meal replacement and before bed if you can and MP post training.

If you are in a bind and can't get all your food in, you can do a scoop of UMP or MP for every 3 oz or so of protein, but try to get your whole food in too. You want to get all different types of protein in so you get the best array of aminos.

Those should be fine together but the lean out should be taken before your meals if I'm not mistaken.

There should be no problem, but list the name. There are many ways to take Lean Out. Take them just as you begin eating. Take the enzyme after you're done.

new question, i have been at 150/200 protein per day and 50/60 grams of carbs. i have lost 22 pounds in 3 months, i have about 15 pounds to hit my goal. and about 3 sizes in clothing, to hit my target. i have stalled out. i spoke with a guy at the gym his wife does shows and he is a trainer. anyway he says i should try 2 high carb days 80carbs and then one low day 45 to kick it back up. does this sound reasonable?

Actually you need way more than 80g of carbs. When doing the type of diet you are doing you need at least one high carb day a week but probably 2. Those diets usually incorporate high carbs every 3rd and 4th day. So for example low carbs on all days besides Mon and Thurs. These are called refeed days. Some people consume all the carbs as a replacement for there last meal on those days, but I like them spread evenly through the day so you have carbs in you when you workout. You need to start doing ASAP or your metabolism will be shot. In your case high carb should at least be between 200-300g.

I think it is actually time to revamp the diet, perhaps utilizing Jason's much higher carbed diet along with the GDA protocol.

Without knowing the fat content, you may have gone too low in calories.

You also say you're carb sensitive and bloat. Can you explain the bloat? Lower GI later or large intestine bloat? Bloating immediately? Bloat as in holding too much fluid?

I think you've low carbed out. You've peaked with the diet. You may try as you wrote for another couple of weeks, but if there's no improvements, it's time to change.

Well, that's much better than using soy as a supplement.

In previous posts, you say you have UMP. Do you still use UMP? Juice Plus? How much and does it have HFCS...(High Fructose Corn Syrup)?
