OK...I am about 12 weeks out, breakfast is killing me at this point. I am eating:

2 eggs, 4 whites (some days - 6 whites)
5 oz beef
1/2 oats (or grapefruit depending on the day)

Most of the normal stuff isn't getting it for me, salsa for example, would always help. Now, it's only good to me once in a while. And I can't stand beef in the eggs, so I gotta eat them separately. On no yolk days, I have been mixing some eggs with the oats and having a Sully oatcake.

Anyone have any other weird and wacky ways to make this meal more appealing?? I nice slab a cheese on the eggs sounds good right about now !! Big Grin

THAT WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MEALS DURING PRECONTEST PREP. I WOULD SPLIT MY BEEF DOWN THE MIDDLE AND LAY IT ON TOP OF 2 EQUALLY DIVIDED PORTIONS OF EGGS. THEN I WOULD LIGHTLY GARLIC SALT IT AND PUT SOME FRANKS HOT SAUCE ON. I WOULD EAT THE COOKED YOLK ALL BY ITSELF AND DRINK THE OATMEAL! SOUNDS GOOFY TO ME NOW, BUT AT THE TIME I LOVED IT!

Why don't you try to mix some veggies in with the omelett? I usually have 6 egg whites, ground beef, some broccoli, tomatoes, mushrooms, bellpeppers. I precook my beef, then just take my portion out for the meal (like 4oz), brown it some with onions, then add the veggies and eggs and scramble it all. Spice it with some garlic salt and salsa, plus my 1/2 grapefruit or some cantaloupe after and I'm in diet heaven - not to forget my cup of java to make things perfect! I've been eating that for the last 7 weeks of my diet almost every morning, 5+ more to go until the Master's Nationals, but I'm always looking forward to my breakfast!

I always use hot sauce. I also tried Molly McButter's cheese sprinkle stuff. Virtually calorie free, gives you the taste of cheese..... alittle

Try mixing eggs, oats and protein powder together in a blender. You can cut back on your beef by spiking your waffle with the protein powder. Then cook in a waffle maker or like pancakes in a pan. Top with sugar free apricot preserves or sugar free syrup sweetened with splenda.

Have you ever had Machaca con Huevos? (Machaca and eggs) You mix up some onion, jalapeno chiles, green peppers and your beef chopped up and "fry" it in a non-stick pan. Mix in your eggs and a little hot salsa... Put it in one of the La Tortilla Factory low carb tortillas -- although the tortillas might not be great for pre-contest.

Wow...That sounds good, and your right, minus the tortilla.

And Lisa, keep those recipes coming! A friend of mine lives in Diego (Port Loma - sp??), he took me to a little bar a while back and I had the best fish taco (mahi mahi) ever !!!!!!!!

Thanks !!
