After my competition, like many of you, I gained alot of water weight after my competiton. I went way overboard afterwards. I was wondering what I can do to avoid it this year. I still want to go out and cheat a litle, but was curious to know if there is anything i can do (supplements, etc...) to lessen this bloating, because it was really disheartening last year.
I went on cruise the week after my competiton last year and if you looked at me you would never know i was in the best shape of my life only 1 week proir.

Bill: Just came off 3 shows.. every other weekend.. so I hear ya. What I did was 1 big cheat meal.. then right back on HIGH water.. B6 and Vit C to keep voiding. This last show.. I went a bit overboard too..and I'm a bit puffy today - but not too bad. Again, B6 and VitC and I did take a few taraxatone - which I think helped. But drink a LOT of water.. it helped me..

Food plays a role in bloat. The biggest thing is electrolytes (sodium/potassium) and water. If you follow the sodium depletion / pottasium loading pre-competition, you absolutely have to taper back down. Skip this and you can count on holding tons of water.

Brochas is right on. B6 (or Ultra 40), vitamin C, and t-tone with lots of water will keep the water coming back off.

Hitting some cardio right after the show can help with the water weight as well.

As far cheating, eat once in a while. Just do not go nuts with it.
