I have just started the 7/70 workout (last Friday) and really like it so far. I realize that 80% of the results will come from the nutrition/supplement part of the routine, so here is my question: I would say that about 90% of the time that I workout, it is early mornings (like 6:15am) would you guys suggest eating prior to lifting? I have been on an early morning routine for about 5 years and most of that time, lift without any food in my system.

Thanks for the help.

I like a pre-workout meal personally, but you have to do what feels right to you, and what you can stick with. Working out at 6:15 am means that you'll have to eat at about 5:00 am or so. If that works for you, then give it a shot, maybe a shake b/c it's easy to prepare. If it doesn't work for you, then don't worry about it. It might be a good idea to sip on some Glutamine Seclect if you're not going eat.

Bill, thanks a lot...that's what I thought you might say. I'm on day four today and shoulders/biceps/triceps were tough today. I felt very strong, but those **** tri sets and supersets were pretty hard. But I loved it and the feeling that I have now is awesome.

Can't you have a better "fat loss" potential if you don't eat a meal and workout first thing in the morning?

I'm not following the 7/70 program but, I do workout first thing when I get up. My diet is fatloss/lean-gain so my morning nutrition is as follows:
First thing when get up: 16 Synergy and 8 Lean Out
After workout: 3 servings of a Glutamine/bcaa drink mixed with 8oz. Gatorade and 10-12oz. water along with 2 Bev Advanced Antioxidants
Then breakfast follows a little later which is eggs, oats, cottage cheese and Ultra Size plus 6 Ultra 40.
If you following the 7/70 supp. program I'd probably do on the growth weeks 16 Synergy preworkout, mass aminos during workout, mass maker post workout, then breakfast. During the hardening days synergy and lean out pre workout, muscle mass during workout, then after workout if you eat breakfast immediatly that is fine but, if it is going to be a while before breakfast add a little glutamine/bcaa(glutamine select) post workout. If you are an extremely hard gainer you may want to add a little mass maker or muscle provider before you workout just to be on the safe side to prevent burning up to much muscle for fuel during your workout but, otherwise the mass aminos during the workout will be enough.

nursejane,
I would say yes. However you would probably want to add a few things before your workout to help promote burning fat instead of muscle such as bcaa's, l-carnitne, gh-boosters, fat mobilizers, thermogenics, etc. not saying to take everything just giving examples.

Guys- i really appreciate your help. I think it may be an individual thing and will try something around 5am just to see if it helps. I will probably start with a protein shake and the synergy prior to work out and see how I feel. I have tried it without anything in my system for so long it may take me a while to get the right approach for me.

Thanks.

Cytrainer9113,
Yes 8 Lean Out, which is two servings. This gives me 1,200mg. of l-carnitine the same as taking two Energy Reserve.

No more coffee since started the diet...just monster's....Everyone who gets up that early everyday needs a stimulant. What's yours?
