Oh Mike, that is, believe it or not, a REALLY difficult question!

Watermelon is DELICIOUS, low sugar, Fibrous and is approximately 96% water. So what is the problem? FRUCTOSE and GLUCOSE that are within the fruit itself. The whole idea behind the 50-20-30 split is to prohibit sugars, unfortunetly that means (with the exception of some) NO FRUIT!

Now, are you competing and plan to stay super strict? If you are, stay kinda clear of most fruit and stick with quality carb sources... If not competing.... GO FOR THAT WATERMELON!! If all you are trying to do is get lean, there is no reason why you can't have watermelon on your menu.

As a general rule for those trying to slim down on a 50-20-30 split can incorporate some fruit:
Strawberries, Rasberries, Blackberries, Watermelon, Cantelope, Grapefruit... but even then in relative moderation....

I hope I didn't confuse your further. I myself have mixed emotions about fruit in general. But if it makes you feel anybetter, Watermelon is one of the better fruits you can have on a diet plan.
