Melissa,
These bars have recently been exposed by Label Claims Testing to not meet up with what they list as to the contents, through lab analysis. I believe their actual protein was way below what was listed, and the carb content was almost double of that which was listed.
I would guess that most bars also fall under these same suspicions.

Melissa, I would never use a bar as a 'planned' meal, no matter pre-comp or 'off-season' as there are far too many better choices ... in an emergency, do what you have to do to put the wolves at bay, but I usually just do a small snickers and drink a ton of water ... pre-contest (which is most of the year come to think of it Smile), I just do a handful of Ultra-40 ... by the way, how did the Fargo show go for you ?? ... tom

Holy Crap, I just read the reports! Thats insane for carbs usage! I dont want that many carbs! I cant believe that there are 55 grams of carbs and on the label they put ONLY 9! What a Joke! Thanks for the info Tim!!

I don't know what you were reading on the label, Melissa, they say between 34 and 38 grams of carbs on the ones I sell here at my gym... even so, the numbers in the test say they are almost twice that, which I think is true for most bars out there. Bars are definitely a "NO" during a contest diet for me, off season I have one on occasion or in an emergency.
