I'm 5'4" around 122 lbs, and I'm still 35 weeks out from my first competition, this October. So, I know I shouldn't be too worried about dieting, just yet. But my question is, what should my diet look like at about 35 weeks out? I think I've got protein intake figured out so that I continue to build lean muscle at about 160 g/day, but what about carbs and fat?! Any help would be greatly appreciated =]

Well are you doing figure or bb, at 122 and 5'4" you would want to add some lean mass if bodybuilding, probably either way.
What is your current level of bodyfat, it must be fairly low considering your weight. I think you are right on the protien requirements.....what is your bodyfat and I can help with the carbs and fats.... take care |

Wow.. don't I feel stupid! I'm going to be competing in figure, sorry for not clarifying that. And I am around 13% bodyfat. I know that most people start with a much higher bodyfat percentage. Is there any disadvantage to mine being so low so far out? I've maintained this bodyfat percentage for the better part of the last 7 or so months with no problem. I'm assuming it has something to do with the marathon training I started in August.. there's no storing fat when running 5-20 miles/day. I've been lifting heavy for the past 3 months, though, and have really increased my lean muscle mass, but. . .like you said. . .I've still got a ways to go.
Glad I'm on the right track with the protein.. always nice knowing I'm doing SOMETHING right =] But about them fats and carbs.... Thanks MUCHO, Maria! |

Traing for the Northern, Natural Ohio and the Mr Cincinnati, then a nice year off to gain some size, need to be about 10 lbs bigger next time, lofty goal, but I think I can do it.
We'll see. |
