I wouldn't recommend it. Alcohol is a HUGE no no during contest prep. If you are on a pre contest diet I wouldn't do it...if you're not then it's not so bad. Before my last competition I had about 8oz. of red wine two nights before the show to help dry me up but that's it.
Generally it is not wise to consume alcohol of any type pre contest, especailly on a weekly basis. Alcohol is not a carb, fat, or protein and has 7 cal per gram. Alcohol in quantity may affect your work out and cardio schedule.
That being said, during my last contest prep I had a glass of dry red wine (merlot) with a piece of lean steak sometime during the 12 to 8 week out period instead of a cheat at a meal. But I was ahead of schedule on the dieting.
Only you can decide and no one here will give you an OK on this one!!
If you are in precontest dont do it. Alcohol is like throwing a bucket of water into your metabolism furnace. It serverly affects calorie burning and storage.
