Honestly, how bad is peanut butter on a fat loss diet?..although I eat it everyday, I only eat a very small amount and it's organic. So I do have some control on it... I truly think I am addicted to it though.. Maybe if I hear from someone on this board that I need to stop eating it, I will. My weight loss has stalled and this is probably a big part of it. That was the first to go for me and holy **** I miss it alot. I do get it on competition day though, twice. Lucky me!!!! It is probably best to take it out and get your percentage of fat thru fish oils. That also helps you "track" the amounts as sometimes its easier to increase the PB portion size because it tastes so yummy. And its all fats sister so be careful if you continue to use. But you could also do a trial run, take it out and see what happens.

I recently did a HIGH fat/ High protein cycled with hgh protein/high veg days ( 2 days on one, 2 days of the other) and lost a tone of weight. I ate Natural PB everday as part of my fat sources, and might recommend Naturally More brand of Peanut Butter. I lost a ton of weight on this diet method, and have cut out PB/fat for one week prior to show, but will be adding back in 2 days out from the show. On a regular diet you can have in moderation, but SOME diets do require fats, and for me it is NUMERO UNO!!!!

Everyone is different though. So keep in mind, what works for Toni or CB or Joe will not necessarily work for you. It's trial and error but if you have a competition coming up, nows not really the time. The trials should come during the off season or further out from your competition date. That is if you are competing. If not, just take it out for a week or two and see what happens?

The amount of fat you take in depends on the type of diet you are following. But using natural peanut butter as your fat source is fine - the key is only eating the prescribed amount for your diet. For clients I put on lower fat diets I typically do NOT use PB only because of the quantity issue - I find that if someone needs to add in some fats but they only need 5g-worth of PB, for example (which is barely anything!) they have a hard time only eating that 5g - it's like once the cap comes off the PB all h*ll breaks loose! So for lower fat diets I typically have the extra fats come from fish oils or almonds which are much easier to control portion sizes - especially from a mental standpoint.

AGREEEEEEEDDDDDD...... on this first cut there have been times when all I want to do is get a jar of crunchy peanut butter and a spoon. Is it pathetic that I already have a tenative binge, even downn to the foods, planned for after my cut? HA! Hey LAW, Have you changed your diet at all and taken out the PB? If you post your diet we'll be able to better help you determine if that could be the cause of your stall. It is doubtful that a little PB would be the culprit for the stall. I hear ya both Will and Steph. I used to joke with people when I was on diet that I couldn't even look at a jar of peanut butter so I buried what I had deep in my cupboard. If I saw it, I would have ended up with a spoon sitting on the kitchen floor with the jar of PB and PB all over my face, fingers, and hair. LOL. But I was being seriously really. Let me tell you, the Friday before and day of the competition I went thru 2 jars of natty pb with the rice cakes. And even though I couldn't drink water, I loved every bite! Will, I know that you are doing the transformation and really wish you had posted a thread here on the board. How about a cliff notes version of what you have accomplished?

LOVE the PB!!!!!LOVE IT. I can't keep it in the house or it disappears mysteriously. I agree w/Steph fish oils or almonds are easier to control if you are trying to lean out. Did I say Love it already...I can't wait until the Friday of Pk wk now...UMMMM 8wks 2days....

Two whole jars of natty pb in two days. What more could a gal ask for? Oh wait, you don't get any water with it so that's what is missing. LOL

After my last competition I went through jars of PB and BAGS of mini reese's cups (yeah the reese's were so bad for me - hence the HUGE puffy face I mentioned in a previous post). But during my offseason diet I didn't crave it nearly as much because my body was getting all the fats it needed. I do notice that almost every one of my female clients cutting with low fats CRAVE the PB, whereas with the males it's hit or miss.

**** yeah I put the PB in my oatmeal in the morning. Now that I am off season it replaces the egg yolk and what a treat it is. Love the crunchy natty PB, Meijer or Krema brands.
