I'm not cheating or anything but I do not love protein and my system is taking a major hit from all this protein. Does anyone have substitutes for chicken or tuna? I feel like I'm going to turn into a fish!!!!!! I am drained at night because I can't seem to get my last meal in as I am feeling very nauceous and am afraid I won't keep it down-which I think is because of od'ing on tuna and egg whites. if anyone could help it would be great! Thanks so much! Sherry

If your are new to eating six times a day then that could be a problem......

if you have increased your protein intake by 5-10 times what you are used to then it can cause some intestinal issues (GAS AND STUFF). I have never had that problem but maybe others can chime in.

Fitdoc might be able to help here Smile

As far as substitutes.....turkey, ground turkey, another fish product (Tilapia, halibut, Snapper, sword etc.)

Might also look at preparing things differently through rubs, sauces and marinades. If I brown some ground beef I will occasionaly through some taco of faijita seasoning in at the end.

Pork is not a bad option either. I eat plenty of butterfly boneless pork chops and pork loin.

If you are new to this type of diet don't get discouraged. If you can't get all the meals down the first month or so or need to cut some portions so you can handle the massive food intake do so. I don't think anyone would object.

Sherry, that is where the protein powders can help to make this eating lifestyle much more manageable ... not only from the time standpoint of preperation, but they also afford us a nice 'variety' without sacrificing the nutrient density ... I am not sure where you are in terms of caloric intake desired at this point, but replacing/alternating meals with Ultra Size drinks/puddings, or Muscle Provider (add some 100% egg if desired) with dry oats, or 3-4 strawberries, peach slices, or 1/4 cup bluberries (I mix them all thick and eat with a spoon most of the time for satiation) ... add a tablspoon of flax if you diet calls for it to complete the meal ... quick, clean, and a nice variety ... your system will probably addjust to the increase in protein intake once it realizes it going to be an ongoing thing now, it should start producing the enzymes needed to break it down more efficiently ... sometimes it helps digestion to ingest the protein first in the meal, you may want to give that a try too, but it sounds like your question is more directed towards the repetitiveness aspect ... give the quality powders a try ... good luck, tom
