New Carb Countdown Milk

Hi Everyone- Hood has this new milk out, its' called "Carb Countdown" or something like that. For 1 cup, it has 3 grams of carbs, 100 calories, and 12 grams of protein. It doesn't taste all that bad either. The cholate has more fat, but, is delicious. Has anyone else seen this stuff, is it ok? I am using it right now because I am simply eating 5 times a day and making sure no one meal exceeds 30 carbs, or is too fattening, so, its not a problem. As I get stricter though, I am curious if this is ok to use.

I haven't seen or heard of it. Does it contain peanut butter? LOL

Is it a whey/suppliment drink?

Hi Frank, and everyone else- No, its just supposed to be milk, but they use splenda in it and somehow remove the sugar. I honestly don't know how it is made. I live in upstate NY, so, I figured its out everywhere. The plain honestly just tastes like skim milk, but, with only 3 carbs per cup, its a nice addition to add to things. I of course don't have a container handy, or I would list them for everyone.

Well, I'm going to look for it. I'm going to Whole Foods and see what they have.

Hmmm. Ya think it's from dairy cows fed Splenda on low carb diets? Wink

Hey Christopher. I also live in Central NY, some would say Upstate, so wondering if you got it at a NY Chain store. I haven't seen it at Wegmans and they usually get the new stuff.

Hi Leslie- They only have it at Price Chopper, not sure if you guys have those there either. I live about 15 miles north of Albany. Its been out for about a month now. I hope they put it everywhere, its really great, and, like I said, even if you can't have it during last 8 weeks of pre-contest, its definately great the rest of the year. Again, its made by Hood, hopefully everyone will get a chance to see what I am talking about soon. Take care-Chris.

Christopher,
I'm also north of Albany-Clifton Park. Train at Healthplex Gym. Have introduced Beverly to many of the guys and gals there.

I haven't seen this new milk product you speak of, probably because I don't consume dairy, even off-season. But I agree with Frank: if there was peanut butter in the ingredients, it would definitely perk my interests Smile

Thanks Vanessa and Tom- I started to think that I just was drinking whole milk and made the whole thing up! Seriously, thanks for the particulars, interested to see what people think. As I said, for those not in strict pre-contest mode, its really nice to add to things and gives me flexibility with meals and stuff. Thanks again. -Chris

PS- Aram, I live in Mechanicville, I run up to your neck of the woods sometimes. I read your profile in the Newsletter, you look great and I wish you continued success in your endeavors.

I found it! It marketed as a milk. It is a dairy product, however, with all the ingredients, it seems like a protein mix.

Hey. I'm originally from upstate N.Y. (Utica) but I live in North Carolina now. I've had the milk though, it's pretty good. If your making a low carb shake, it definatly better than adding water.
