I need help with my diet. I can't seem to get rid of my gut. I don't have very much fat anywhere else but there. I was doing cardio but a friend told me that I would lose muscle from cardio. He told if I cleaned my diet up the fat would fall off. I'm not sure what I could change or how to change it. Here's what I eat

1-5 egg whites 1/2 cup oatmeal
2-protien shake
3-chicken/brocoli
4-protien shake
5-chicken/brocoli
6=protien shake

Any suggestions on how to clean this up so I can shed some of the fat.

chris - Each person will lose body fat differently. For some the abs are the last area to lean out. As far as your diet goes have you calculated what the various macronutrient values are for what you are eating? i.e. grams of carbs, protein and fats from each meal? You need to establish what your food intake baseline is and then reduce calories from there by about 300-500 a day initially to see a reduction in body fat. Of course there is a lot more to diet planning than just that, but baselining tells you what changes to make.

What are your goals? Have you contacted BI for a free consultation and diet plan based on your goals? They have a fax back form that gets that rolling.

Some cardio is ok for most, too much can cause you to burn muscle for energy. Body fat reduction through diet, and supplementation alone is best for hanging on to muscle mass if it will work for you.

Good luck in meeting your goals.

Here's a few questions:

1. Age?
2. Current weight, height and est BFC?
3. Type of cardio and duration you're currently doing?
4. What type of shake are you using? Are you using Bev or are you using something like Muscle Milk?

If this is your regular diet day in and day out, I can see right now that you need a little more veggie variety, fruit, and some fats, such as flax oil.

Many times your diet is not have any good fats. Other things can actually prevent fatloss, even though you may be on a lower cal diet, such as lack of fluids, good fats, too much cardio. One can actually burn muscle, retaining fat.
