I am about 9 weeks out from my first competition. Here is the diet that was suggested for my goal:
Meal #1
1 whole egg + 3 egg whites
3 oz. 93% lean beef
1/3 cup oatmeal before cooking

Meal #2
Protein Drink: 2 Scoops Ultra Size and 14-oz water
or
5 oz very lean meat, 5 strawberries or ½ piece fruit

Meal #3
5 oz. chicken (before cooking)
4 oz. sweet potato or 1/2 cup cooked brown rice
1 cup vegetables (broccoli, etc.) or salad with 2 TBS low cal (no sugar) dressing

Meal #4
Protein Drink: 2 Scoops Ultra Size and 14-ozwater
or
5 oz very lean meat, 5 strawberries or ½ piece fruit

Meal #5
5 oz. 93% lean beef, chicken, turkey, fish
1 cups vegetables
Salad: 2 pcs Romaine Lettuce, ¼ Tomato, ½ Carrot, ½ cup celery, ¼ cucumber
1 TBS. Low Cal Dressing or 1 tsp Flax Oil, 1 TBS Vinegar, herbs

Meal #6
Protein Drink: 2 Scoops Muscle Provider, 4 strawberries and 14-oz water
or
6 oz chicken breast, 1 cup vegetables

I have been taking the MS Power pack with meal 1, 2 antioxidants post resistance training, and 2 leanout out prior to each meal.
I was surpirsed when I didn't really see/feel a difference in my body yet 10days. I just expected a change because the BEV diets are so different then the way I normally eat(higher carbs), and I usually don't take fat loss supplements.
I really want to do well and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions/comments?

Hi RW - If the diet came from a Beverly staff person after they reviewed your current diet, stats and goals I'd stick with it for another week or two before thinking about any changes.

It is not unusual to go 3-4 weeks before you start to see some visible changes in our condition. The changes start to come a little faster as you get closer to the contest. I'm just guessing - but my suspicion is that you are needing to drop a fair amount of weight/BF as this is a fairly low total kcal diet. So if you are a little high right now in BF the noticable/visible changes may not appear until your body fat starts to drop down to a lower level.

Hang in there a little while longer and see how it goes. Don't be afraid to give your Beverly coach regular updates.

I totally agree with VA Maddog. Starting with 8.9% bodyfat, I had this diet 7 weeks prior to my comp. It wasn't until the end of week 3 that I really started seeing my body change - and once it started, it kept on going! I ended up competing at 5% bodyfat and won my class.

Stick with it - you will be glad you did.

I am assuming that you will give this diet at least 2 good weeks before worrying too much. If in fact at that time if no changes have been made in your fat%, I would think that the calories may be too much. You did not say how much you weighed or your starting % fat. Hard to give a solid answer with out knowing all of the facts. Tid bit, sometimes it takes the body 3 weeks to get acclimated to a new style of eating. Give it a few days more!

Thursday the 9th will be two weeks. I think Today was the first day I started to see SLIGHT changes in my upper body. I weigh about 132 and am 20% BF. Thanks for your suggestions and advice.

RW-

The supps I took were:

8 Synergy w/ 1t Glutamine prior to training
2 antiox and 1t Glutamine after training

Power pack with Meal 1
3 Mass Amino and 3 Ultra 40 with each meal
2 Energy reserve and 1 Lean out with each meal

This was my second show. The first one I did not use all the recommeded supps and this time I did. WOW! My energy level was through the roof and staying on the eating plan was not very difficult.

Good luck to you!
Lisa

I just got the Creatine Select and Gluatine Select and will start with that tomorrow.

hey lisa...I talked with my BEV rep and we're going to go to more of a fat loss plan to get things going...Here's the thing. I think my body is FINALLY changing. the scale hasn't changed too much and my BF measurements using a four site are still inconsistent and read high. But im starting to see a difference in my legs and abs.
i think im going to give it one more week and then start the lower cal/carb plan.
you said you followed the same plan i did the whole time?
