Hey yall, I been trying to bulk up and heard I need to intake 4,000 calories a day for someone my size 6'3 240, but I'm trying to lose about 8 lbs of fat weight. This is a brief summary of what I eat a day, 6 meals
5 chicken breasts (no skin)grilled 5-6 oz's each
3 cups of mixed vegies
2 cups mixed fruit
2 bananas
2 cups of mashed sweet potatoes
3-4 protein shakes (whey)
1 soy protein shake at night

I'm still falling way short of my total calorie intake, but good on carbs and protein I think.
any suggestions? Thanks

How many calories do you need to reach 4000? And how did you come up with 4000? If you need to reach that caloric total, I'd eliminate the mixed fruit and soy shake. Add heavy cream to a couple of your shakes and include natural peanut butter and/or olive oil. I didn't see any healthy fats in there. I'd also include eggwhites, 2 whole eggs, and oatmeal in your first meal. If you're not doing so already, I'd include Ultra 40 Liver and Mass Amino's with each meal for lean mass support.

Good luck.

"Drop the soy."

Personally, it would be in the same tone as "Drop it! Step away from the soy!"

If you're wanting to shed fat, the amount of soy you will be taking in may be 3 to 4 times that of a Japanese daily intake.

That's enough on it. I'll get off my soybox.

As for diversifying your protein intake, adding eggs and beef is not bad. Timing of carb intake is also beneficial.
