Hi all. Have a rahter "dumb" question I should know the answer to but seem to have forgotten.

Whne the diet calls for lets say 4 oz of turkey breast. It that prior to cooking?

Ok I filled my quota for dumb questions today.
Thanks

I weigh my lean meat following cooking and log into my diet program as ounces, cooked weight.

The weights for the lean meat are before cooking. As a general rule, 4 oz of raw meat weighs about 3 oz after cooking, but that can vary depending on how "well done" the meat is cooked.

I currently have Rita Kaya as my Bev Advisor and her meal plan for me states all weights for meat are prior to cooking. I weight mine out and set a few inches apart when cooking so I have my portions exact. I will cook a pound of ground turkey and throw the cooked 4 oz. in ziploc baggies to throw into my eggs the next few mornings. Makes it quick and easy when at work! Big Grin
