Do any of you buy the Costco rotiserre (sp?) chicken? Aside from it being high in sodium is it bad to eat in the off season? Skin free of course.

Rotissery chicken?? Delicious! Offseason? Sure! Watch the fat calories in the wings and thighs and account for those calories. Obviously, the breast will be almost fat free.
No real problem there at all. Just be sure to keep an eye on your intake and account for all macros. Vijay Rock Puri, D.C. |

I found it to be higher in fat, but not nearly as much as the other parts. I would eat 1 med chicken a day with vegetables when I worked a 12 hour shift. I did it for quite some time without any fat gain. Phew! Those were long days, 12-13 hours at work, 1.5 hour drives each way, plus get in a workout! Frank "Lift and be happy. It's fine. As long as you remove the skin and stick with the lean, white meat you're good to go. It is higher in sodium, so may cause a little more water retention, but that's no big deal.
It's a nice way to get chicken in without having to be so overwhelmed with cooking all the time. It's nice to have break from cooking now and then! Rachel Wade Beverly International |
