Hopefully Sean will see this...

Sean,
First of all, congrats! You did a outstanding job with your precontest this year. Being a 6' male, I find it hard to find complarable sized guys to look to for ideas for my plans. You definetly hit the mark. Last year was my first time around competing. And know that I know what I can do better, I will improve this year.
I realy liked your diet. Even more when I read the Brain W. had been helping you with it! (another 6'er). I'm goig to stick fairly close to what you did with a tweak here or there, as I go to the gym @ O-dark 30.
So, my only question is this; Your first meal you have listed as "11 egg whites, 1 cup oats, and 1/2 piece of fruit". Is that 1 cup before or after cooking? I see that you have 1/4 blended with UMP for your pre-WO meal, and I'm assuming that is uncooked.
I'l be having that meal at about 4:30 am, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to down 2 cups of cooked oatmeal (1 cp uncooked) that early. Also, it seems like a large serving of carbs, especially with the fruit added in.
If it is 1 cp uncooked, I'll give it a shot. It obviouisly worked for you!
Hope you read this, if so, thanks in advance for the clarification.

Andy

I'll answer in case Sean doesn't see this. All of the foods listed are measured before cooking unless otherwise noted. That's a general rule of thumb for diets that you'll see on our website and in the newsletter. Because everyone cooks their food differently (ie, rare, well done), this is the only way of ensuring consistency. And consistency is probably the most important factor of any diet. Rice is one of the few things you'll see measured after cooking and it’s typically noted that way. Oatmeal is measured before cooking.

SORRY I DIDNT REPLY SOONER, AS STEVEN SAID IT IS ALL PRE-COOKED MEASUREMENTS. I ALSO ALWAYS MAKE SURE TO GET 100% WHOLE GRAIN OLD FASHIONED OATS, NOT THE QUICK OATS IN THE SAME TYPE OF CONTAINER!

also you do not have to cook oatmeal... it wont absorb as much water i eat 1 cup oats all the time someties 2-3 times a day.. usually just add ump and a little water to it to make a vanilla oat paste like a no bake cookie.

I ended up adding some boiled water to it. I think there was a bacteria and it would just tear up my stomach. After I boiled the little critters, no problem. How about you, Joe?
