What's the best way to tan for a photoshoot? Self tanners, competition dye?? And which brands do everyone like?

I have a professional photo shoot on the Friday of the Arnold and then the fashion show on Sunday...I may also be working at a booth that weekend. I want a good, dark tan for all weekend.

I've done some research on products and these are the ones I have read about: Sun Laboratories Self tanners, ProTan Sunny Day, Clarions face bronzer, Dermablend, Colortration, and St. Tropez bronzers.

Any suggestions?

My recommendation.....contact Marilyn at liquidsunrayz.com. That's the best tanner I have been sprayed with. Good luck finding a good product, and share if you find something other than Marilyn that has great results.

Great question. I like Marilyn a lot of liquidsunrayz too. However if I want to do a great natural looking tan for a shoot quickly at home, I put on one coat of the newer Jan Tana Competition Tan - sleep in it then shower off in the am. The mouse goes on super easy and leaves a great golden tan. This is what I will be doing for the Arnold this year.

Also, if anyone is looking for Fitness Photoshoots, my husband, commercial photographer, Rick Lohre will be setting aside days this spring specifically for Studio Fitness Photoshoots. Here is a link for more info...

RiptGirl,

Would do some pic shoots on a regular
basis with a digital camera (shoot 1000's) and review
them on your laptop just as you practice posing.

Wear different attire, find what color/style etc..
works for U.

Would also do some ALL white background
pics for the web as that will compliment
shape and avoid out door photos (for web)
as they create shadowing that hides muscle definition.

good white example:

Happy pic-ing
