Fasting Cardio vs Fasting Weight Training|

Hi Everyone.
I am slightly confused as to why people think doing cardio in a fasted state will burn more fat but when I mention I plan to train with weights in a fasted state people think it is a terrible idea because I will be burning to much muscle. I work out first thing in the morning and right now I am looking to lose about 10lbs of fat so what is the best idea as far as pre-workout nutrition.What should I eat or should I even eat. I've trained fasted first thing in the morning for practically my entire career. However, I take in a special workout cocktail that is probably the best protocol I've used to burn fat AND build muscle simultaneously. Of course, two of the ingredients are Beverly products. PM me for details.
