I judged the KY State bb show last weekend and the overall masters, light heavy and overall winner was a guy around 42 years old who had competed with Roger back in the day. Joel Preston was superb. He had full muscle bellies, healthy thin unblemished skin, clean lines and striated muscles. I am so proud of individuals like Joel that compete drug free no matter what the status of the show. People look at themselves and say either "I am too fat or I still need to be bigger." If you want to compete in a contest, the clock it ticking and we can not stop it. We have the rest of our lives to keep getting better. I suggest picking a show and train your heart out and see what kind of shape you can get into! That in itself is your reward. Getting the trophy is just extra.
I hope I see you at the Northern for your first or next competion.

Character is the ability to follow through on a resolution long after the emotion with which it was made has passed...

Wow,

Perfect timing for that message! I've been contemplating competing in my third show but at 5'2", 125 lbs, 111 competition, I feel tooooo small!
But like you said, train your heart out and see what happens. I trained my butt off for my first two competitions and found the reward extremely gratifying. I placed second in both and couldn't have been happier with how I got myself through it!
So, thanks for the boost just when I needed it! Big Grin
